Device Detail
Drill into a single device's live metrics, historical charts, batch history, and alert rules in the BrewWizz mobile app.
Open a device
Drill into a single device's readings, charts, and alert rules from one scrollable screen. Tap any device row on the Devices tab to open that device's detail page, where the serial number appears as the page title.
The Device Detail screen helps you answer two questions quickly: what the device is reporting right now, and whether its alert rules are configured the way you expect. From the same page, you can review identity details, inspect recent history, check batch records, and manage threshold-based alerts.
Device identity
The top section shows the device's identifying details and current reporting status.

If the health badge shows Stale or Offline, check the Last reading value first. That timestamp tells you whether the device is still reporting regularly or whether the displayed metrics may be outdated.
Latest reading
The latest reading section shows the most recent sensor values reported by the device. Each value appears in its own metric card so you can scan the current state at a glance.

If the latest reading includes any special device state flags, the screen shows them as a badge below the metric grid. That badge highlights unusual device conditions without requiring you to inspect the chart history.
Charts
The chart section lets you inspect how readings changed over time. Two sets of pill buttons control what appears on the chart: Time range and Metric.
Time range changes how far back the chart looks:
- 1h — Last hour
- 6h — Last 6 hours
- 24h — Last 24 hours
- 7d — Last 7 days
Metric controls which readings are plotted:
- Temperature
- Tank pressure
- Target pressure
- CO2
You can select up to 2 metrics at once. The chart draws two colored lines for the selected metrics, and if you add a third metric, the oldest selected metric is replaced automatically.
If the selected range has no readings, the chart area shows No chart data for this range. On longer ranges with heavy data volume, you may also see an informational badge showing that the chart is displaying only the latest readings for that range or that the data was downsampled for display.
Batches
The batches section shows recent batch history for the selected device. Use it to confirm when batches arrived and which gateway relayed them.
Each batch row shows:
- When the batch was received
- Start temperature
- Gateway ID, which is the upstream relay that sent the batch
If the device has more than 3 batches, the screen shows the first 3 by default. Tap Show all to expand the full list, then tap Show less to collapse it again.
If no batch records are available yet, the section stays empty until the device reports them.
Alert rules
The alert rules section is where you manage threshold rules for this specific device. Each rule watches one metric and triggers an alert when the reading goes above or below the threshold you set.
Each existing rule row shows:
- An Active or Paused badge
- A plain-language description such as
Temperature above 30.0 °C - Cooldown duration such as
Cooldown 30 min - A toggle switch to activate or pause the rule
- Edit and Delete buttons
Alert rules require a plan that includes the alert rules feature. If your plan does not include this feature, existing rules are paused and the section becomes read-only. See Understanding Your Plan on the Dashboard - Web tab for details.
Add a rule
Tap Add rule to open the rule form.

If you enter a threshold outside the typical range for the selected metric, the form shows a hint. The hint does not block saving, so you can still create the rule if the value is intentional.
Edit or pause a rule
Use the toggle switch when you want to pause a rule without deleting it. Use Edit when you need to change the metric, condition, threshold, or cooldown value.
A paused rule stays in the list, which makes it useful for seasonal or temporary monitoring changes. Turn the toggle back on when you want the rule to resume.
Delete a rule
Tap Delete on a rule row to remove it. Before the rule is deleted, the app asks for confirmation with the message Remove this alert rule?
Use deletion when you no longer need the rule at all. If you may want the same rule again later, pause it instead.
