Understanding Your Plan
Which alert and notification features your BrewWizz plan includes, and how your subscription status affects what you can see and do in the dashboard.
What your plan includes
Your BrewWizz plan decides which alert and notification features you can use in the dashboard. If a menu item or setting you expect is missing, it is usually because your plan does not include that feature or your subscription is not currently active.
Plan features
| Feature | What it gives you | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|
| In-app alerts | Alert history and the alert bell in the dashboard header | Alerts |
| Alert rules | Create and edit alert thresholds for each device | Device detail page |
| Email notifications | Alert emails sent to your account email address | Notifications |
| SMS notifications | Alert text messages sent to your verified phone number | Notifications |
Most paid plans include all four. Some plans include in-app alerts only.
What you see for each subscription status
| Subscription status | What you can use |
|---|---|
| Active or trial | Every feature included in your plan. |
| Active, in-app alerts only plan | Alert history and the alert bell. The Notifications menu item is hidden and device alert rules are read-only. |
| No subscription | Alert history only. You can't create alert rules or receive alert emails or texts. Upgrade appears in the menu and Notifications is hidden. |
| Past due, cancelled, or incomplete | No alert features. No new alerts are created or sent, Upgrade appears in the menu, and Notifications is hidden. If a payment is past due, a banner asks you to update your payment method. |
Why a menu item is missing
Notifications appears only when your plan includes alert rules, email notifications, or SMS notifications. Upgrade appears when you don't have an active or trial subscription. See Billing to start or fix a subscription.
The dashboard updates automatically when your plan or subscription changes. You don't need to sign out or refresh the page.
When your plan changes
If your plan is downgraded or your subscription stops being active, any features no longer included are switched off automatically:
- Your alert rules are paused. They are kept, and start working again when your plan includes alert rules.
- Email or SMS notifications that are no longer included are turned off. You can't turn them back on until your plan includes them again.
