Running Packaging Mode

Start PacWizz Packaging mode, select fill pressure, resolve connection warnings, and adjust pressure while your filling line is running.

Before you start

Complete Safety & Site Requirements and Packaging Connections. Confirm which setup you are using:

  • Arm setup: the sensor measures headspace pressure.
  • Foot setup: the sensor measures bottom pressure, including the liquid's hydrostatic pressure.

For a foot setup, the tank-side isolation valve must be open while pressurizing. Keep the packaging-side valve closed until the tank is at the required pressure and the filling line is ready.

Start Packaging mode

  1. On Mode Selection, use Up / Down to move the flashing selection arrow to Packaging.
  2. Press Enter.
  3. On Set Fill Pressure, use Up / Down to choose the packaging pressure, then press Enter to confirm.
  4. Let the PacWizz complete its connection check. It will report issues such as an incorrectly set gas regulator or a disconnected Foot Pressure Sensor. Resolve any warning before proceeding.
  5. Wait for the tank to reach the required pressure. For the foot setup, start the filling line when ready and open the packaging-side isolation valve.

The default fill pressure is 15 psi. Choose a value suitable for your beverage, filling system, and sensor location, while staying within the tank and equipment limits. The default is not permission to exceed your tank's safe operating pressure.

While packaging

PacWizz uses the Foot Pressure Sensor reading to decide when to add gas to the tank headspace. As product leaves the tank, the unit replaces gas to maintain the selected pressure at the measurement point.

You can change the pressure setting while running by pressing Up / Down. With an arm sensor, this adjusts the headspace-pressure target; with a foot sensor, the measurement includes liquid pressure at the bottom of the tank.

Watch the filling line and displayed pressure as you make changes. If pressure cannot be maintained, check the gas supply and sensor/valve arrangement; see Troubleshooting.

Packaging mode does not vent

PacWizz does not release gas in Packaging mode. Lowering the setting does not actively depressurize the tank. Do not use this mode as a substitute for your facility's safe venting procedure.

If you need to pause

Use the fitted isolation valves and your facility's packaging-pause procedure to isolate the tank and preserve pressure. Before resuming, confirm the valves are returned to the positions required by your setup, especially the tank-side valve for a foot sensor.

The manual does not specify a dedicated pause/cancel button sequence. If you need help stopping or changing modes on your unit, contact BrewWizz rather than trying a FizzWizz button sequence.
